During her time at ASIW, Yvette developed, Pink Collar Crime, which, shortly after her Restoration Residency, was produced by Jefferson Performing Arts Society and received national recognition. Her Hurricane Katrina-based play, When the Sky Falls, was developed with Williamstown Theatre Festival, Lark Play Development Center, Epic Theater, Center, and Drilling Company (under working titles Hay Outta Hell Hell and High Water or Lessons for When the Sky Falls). When the Sky Falls went on the win 1st Prize in the  MultiStages Theatre’s New Works Contest. MultiStages Theatre premiered the play Off-Off-Broadway at Hudson Guild Theatre. Other commissioned works include Crawfish QueenHypatia’s Last SupperSpeakeasyTroubled Waters, Shakespeare’s Love & Greed, Crossing the Line. Yvette is the winner of the Louisiana Division of the Arts Fellowship in Playwrighting and a Gambit Weekly Big Easy Award.
“The ASIW Restoration offered a post-Katrina haven during which time the cast and crew of Pink Collar Crime came together to heal, connect, and recharge, while rehearsing for the world premiere of the play.  The time at ASIW was a rich salve to the post-Katrina chaos.”
