In her debut collection, Cleave, (Hub City Press, 2021), Tiana Nobile grapples with the history of transnational adoption, both her own from South Korea and the broader, collective experience. While in residency at Studio in the Woods, she will be using the time to write and revise her manuscript in progress, a poetic project that explores the intersection of being born and giving birth and the ways in which we carry these experiences in our bodies for the rest of our lives. Tiana is a Korean American adoptee, member of the The Starlings Collective, recipient of a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writer’s Award, and two-time finalist of the National Poetry Series. She lives with her family in New Orleans, Louisiana.
