Ozone504/DJ Koni Achafa is an east Tennessee Melungeon of Saponi, Monacan, and Lenni Lenape descent who found himself magically transported to Bulbancha through a trick of fate at the end of the 20th century. He is a social practice artist, DJ/producer/engineer for Bvlbancha Liberation Radio, arts editor and design director of Bulbancha is Still a Place zine, steward, builder, and lead caretaker of the Nanih Bvlbancha modern Indigenous earthwork on the Lafitte Greenway, among other liberatory plots. He will be working on augmented reality, music production, screen-printing, and historical research into Indigenous led “free state” experiments in the Southeast.
