Muira McCammon is an Assistant Professor, primarily based in Tulane’s Department of Communication with a courtesy appointment at Tulane Law School. She studies the communication practices of the U.S. administrative state and its underlying federal agencies with an eye towards the ways in which deletion can sow distrust in democracy. During her week in the Woods, she plans to make significant progress on her book project, which tackles the U.S. federal government’s reliance on corporate social media to reach its imagined audiences. She will reflect in particular on the complex legacy of public lands in the United States and who gets to speak for them.
