Jill Love is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Tulane University, where her research focuses on how plants respond to changing environments through plasticity and local adaptation. Her dissertation combines field experiments and genomic analyses to explore the genetic architecture of various traits in Mimulus laciniatus, a wildflower native to California’s Sierra Nevada. Beyond her research, Jill is deeply committed to fostering inclusivity in science, actively mentoring underrepresented students and participating in community-based outreach programs that make ecological knowledge accessible to diverse audiences. During the retreat, she will focus on synthesizing her dissertation data and drafting manuscripts for publication in preparation for her defense.
