Jacob Dixon works in ecology and focuses on plant-insect-fungi interaction and how chemistry plays a role in inter-species interactions. Some of his work is based locally in the Gulf South and some of it is based in Ecuador. All of the work has themes, either in the background or the foreground, of conservation and restoration. While he is fascinated by specific scientific details of many organisms, it is through conservation and awareness that he can protect the things he loves. While in The Woods, he will be working primarily on writing his dissertation, though he plans to split time between running statistical analyses and publication preparation as well.
