Growing up in New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina, Ezra Remer experienced the successes and failures of various post-Hurricane recovery initiatives. Inspired by his lived experiences, Remer founded the Dominica Coffee Revitalization Initiative (DCRI), a nonprofit that seeks to create a sustainable coffee industry on the island of Dominica following the devastation of Hurricane Maria. While in residence, Ezra will be working on an organic Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Guide for coffee farmers to address pressing pest issues impacting their harvests.
