Self as Universe: Mending our Collective Ecosystem Residencies

Invites artists for six-week residencies to explore the connections within our collective ecosystems and use the power of imagination to heal the wounds in the relationship between ourselves and our environment.

Residents: Cory Diane, Ching-In Chen, Carl Harrison Jr., Trécha Jheneall, Sarah Fouts & Fernando López, Sultana Harris, and Gary White.

Replenish Residencies

Provides restorative visioning retreats for up to two weeks for Southern Louisiana artists and culture bearers.

Residents: Big Chief Lil Pie, Artist Journey Allen, T Nobile, Gregory Swafford, Sheleen Jones, Big Chief Victor Harris, Big Chief David Peters Montana, John James the Poet, Erika BoBaby Gaddies, and Rin Ramirez

Bulbancha Residencies

Three-week residences for Indigenous artists with a deep connection to Louisiana. These residencies aim to support the unique place of Indigenous Peoples in discussions of climate change and its aftermath.

Scholarly Retreats

Each year, we partner with Tulane and Xavier Universities to host one-week Scholarly Retreats for faculty and trainees across disciplines.

Tulane ByWater Institute Resident Scholars: Olamide Eniola, Jill Love, Ezra Remer, Nathaniel Rich, Carolina Sánchez, and Andrew Ward

Tulane School of Liberal Arts Resident Scholars: Fayçal Falaky Muira McCammon, Jenny Mercein, and Rachel Schoner
