  The drawing featured on our limited-edition t-shirt was created by 2023-2024 Rising: Climate in Crisis artist Omar Mendoza. These shirts showcase the initial sketch for a painting he created while in residence showing a Louisiana iris sprouting from the open jaws of an alligator, inspired by the ones he saw at A Studio in the Woods. Omar finds symbolic intersections between Indigenous iconography from both central/southern Mexico and southeastern United States and handmakes the inks and pigments based on traditional knowledge.
