Tinice Williams is a dedicated advocate for preserving and promoting New Orleans’ unique cultural traditions as the Executive Director of Feed the Second Line. She supports and uplifts the city’s cultural bearers, including the Mardi Gras Indian tribes and second lines, and raises awareness about their invaluable contributions through events, performances, and exhibitions. Her initiatives, such as “Get Lit Stay Lit,” promote clean energy and community resilience. Personally, Tinice embraces her cultural heritage, being the mother of the youngest masking Big Chief of the Black Hawk Hunters Mardi Gras Indian tribe, and actively participates in cultural traditions. She co-led a youth-led BLM initiative against community violence, emphasizing inclusive education about New Orleans culture. Tinice also founded the Creole Cutie Baby Dolls, mentoring young girls to foster self-confidence and cultural connection. As a former educator, she enriched students’ lives and remains committed to creating a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient community through her leadership, dedication to youth literacy, and community service. Her extensive experience significantly impacts the social, cultural, and educational well-being of her community, promoting a more inclusive and resilient society.
