Andrea Armstrong is a 2023 MacArthur Fellow and the Dr. Norman C. Francis Distinguished Professor at Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law, where she teaches incarceration law, constitutional law, criminal procedure, and race and the law. Prof. Armstrong founded IncarcerationTransparency.org, a database and website that documents and memorializes deaths behind bars in Louisiana and supports similar efforts across the United States. During her residency, she will be examining the interconnections between prison-based labor, healthcare, and mortality.
