Joe M. Carmichael was an extraordinarily kind man who had an incredible ability to pay attention, a deep well of humor, a steady hand, a twinkling eye, and a creative mind full of inventive solutions to wide-ranging problems.

His life touched innumerable friends, students, artists, scholars, and New Orleanians of all stripes, and he will continue to do so through the living legacy of A Studio in the Woods.

A celebration of life will be held at A Studio in the Woods, 13401 Patterson Rd. New Orleans, LA 70131 on Sunday, June 18, 2023 4-7pm.
