Meet the 2021-22 Inspiring Health Justice Residents
December 14, 2021
Inspiring Health Justice is a partnership between Dillard University’s Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center and A Studio in the Woods.
The 2021-2022 project began September 2021 and will end in April 2022. Dr. Kristi Anderson will work with Dillard faculty members, Dr. Nancy Dixon and Dr. Zhang Wen and four Dillard Vocal and English students: Karen Grant-Anderson, Zaria Ivory, William Shelton, and Nailah Starks. They will create a program that will end with a mix of art, music and medicine that will highlight the talents and gifts of our residents as well as provide the audience and Dillard community with an understanding of how health disparities and inequities are situated within many of our communities and what we must do to be aware, be educated and be active.
The aim of this program is to bring the arts and public health together to address our region’s longstanding health disparities through creative, cross-disciplinary mentorship to focus the energy and passion of Dillard art students towards fostering health equity. Learn more about the program here.
