Kids in the Woods Camp Returns!

After a two-year pandemic hiatus, we are looking forward to welcoming campers back to the Woods this summer!
Campers ages 7-11 years old will learn about their relationship to the natural environment. Through hands-on arts activities children use both artistic and scientific skills to observe, identify and collect natural materials and processes. They then record their experiences through visual arts such as clay, paint, drawing, collage, and sculpture. They develop literary arts through journaling, poetry and storytelling. Campers also engage with performing arts through movement, music, and creating their own plays. Kids in the Woods Camp features guests artists and scientists, providing deeper dives into subject matter. We will provide a healthy mid-morning snack, but campers will need to bring their own lunch.
DATES: June 20 – July 1, 2022 (2 weeks, Monday – Friday)
TIMES: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
LOCATION: A Studio in the Woods, Lower Coast Algiers, 13401 Patterson Road, NOLA 70131
COST: $600 for the 2-week session ($200 non-refundable deposit due with application, $400 balance, proof of vaccination and signed waiver due by Monday, May 23, 2022). 10% discount for multiple registrations in one family.
COVID: Proof of full vaccination will be required for all campers. We will be following Tulane University and NOLA Public Schools’ Covid policies and will confirm final protocols in May.
