Dr. Robert Maupin is the Division Head for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Associate Dean of Diversity & Community Engagement, at the LSU Health Sciences Center. He is originally a native of Washington DC and an alumnus of the University Maryland Medical School. He completed training in OB/GYN with LSU, New Orleans at Charity Hospital, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at University Maryland Medical Center.
Nationally he has served as a leader in pregnancy focused HIV clinical research with NIH and the CDC. Regionally, he has previously served in medical leadership with maternal-child public health programming with the Louisiana Dept. of Health. As Associate Dean of Diversity & Community Engagement for LSU Medical school, he works to advance institutional diversity programing, faculty development in cultural competency, and pathways into the health professions for students from communities which are underrepresented in medicine.
