January 25, 2023
We are pleased to announce that we have been approved for a $37,500 Grants for Arts Projects award to support Rising: Climate in Crisis Residencies. These residencies invite artists to face the severity of the climate crisis and be agents of change to guide our collective understanding, response, and vision as we shape our shared future. Rising: Climate in Crisis Residencies are among 1,251 projects across America totaling $28,840,000 that were selected to receive this first round of the fiscal year 2023 funding in the Grants for Arts Projects – Artist Communities category.
“The National Endowment for the Arts is proud to support arts projects like this one from A Studio in the Woods that help support the community’s creative economy,” said NEA Acting Chair Ann Eilers. “A Studio in the Woods in New Orleans is among the arts organizations nationwide that are using the arts as a source of strength, a path to well-being, and providing access and opportunity for people to connect and find joy through the arts.”
“We are thrilled to receive this continued support from the National Endowment for the Arts. It demonstrates the urgency and importance of our work supporting artists who are tackling the challenging issues of our time with power and imagination,” said Managing Director Ama Rogan.
